OVERALL: Honestly, I just feel COMPLETELY overworked. I have a lot to do to catch up in other courses. The deadline for my research project is next week, and so is TWO other projects for my English course. Both of which are group projects, and both of which I feel like I'm taking most of the load. Let's not mention the final exams as well..... I'm just experiencing a lot of anxiety, and I just want the semester to end, but also do so smoothly.
THIS COURSE: I'm currently at 463 points in the course, just finishing up W16 Analysis and including this EC assignment. That's a 481 after completing the rest of this weeks mandatory assignments. Since in week 17 we have a possible 30 points *shown in the grading chart* , I predict that I will end the course with a total of 511.
That being said, with my high work, school, and stress load currently....
I HAVE DECIDED THAT IT WOULD BE IN MY BEST INTEREST TO NOT CONTINUE WITH THE FINAL PROJECT FOR THIS COURSE.
*In all honesty I do and did not feel comfortable with using my book for the project. After changing my initial prompt choice to suit using the novel, I lost motivation and the essay felt forced. I had to add information that didn't necessarily fit my thesis just to make it the right length. It would have resulted in a rushed piece anyways...*
By sacrificing the project submissions (16 points total *8 a week, this and next*) , my predicted grade total would drop from a 511 to a 495....... out of 492....
Isn't that just peachy... with all the work I have done this semester in EXTRA CREDIT.... I can sacrifice TWO project submissions... and still finish with a 100.61% in the course. *I could even stop doing work for the rest of the semester in this course and still get an A... but I won't do that.* So I have decided to officially QUIT the project altogether for this class in aims to catch up in other courses. I may do other EC works; time and stress allowing, but as of now, that is the plan.

I too am feeling very overworked and feeling LOTS of anxiety as well. I'm happy for you!! I don't have nearly enough points to just not finish the project submission. In fact, I have to do a lot of extra credit work to catch up to even a B. I'm glad you don't have to do it at all, this will give you a better chance at finishing the rest of the work you have on your plate!
ReplyDeleteHey April,
ReplyDeleteI feel like most of us are right there with you in our stress levels as the semester comes to a close. I think it is awesome that you worked so hard throughout the semester in this course that you don't have to worry about doing the project (or any other assignments this semester) and still receive an A! I would suggest focusing solely on all of your other courses, and then complete any assignments in this class if you have nothing else to do, since you already have an A either way. Good luck with the rest of your classes, I am sure that you will end up getting the grades you want. You're almost there, keep it up!
I agree with you so much April, I’m over with everything right now! I’m envious though you are ahead enough you can completely take a break on this a week early. There’s just so much going on, I’d like to rest already too.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you can do well on your other class projects so you can finish with all As! Good luck!
Hi April,
ReplyDeleteI feel the same, I felt overwhelmed from all projects and papers that I need to turned in last night Sunday. I have 4 project to finished and final exam I need to finish. But unfortunately, I need to finish my W17 project to get an "A" from this class.
Good luck to us all. We are almost finish and we can see the end of long tunnel and bright light coming to appear.
Thank you
Ginalyn
Hi April,
ReplyDeleteFirst off, way to go with being so ahead with your points. I know it's difficult to see anything but frustration when you hit this point, but you should feel proud of how far you have come. I commend you for feeling comfortable enough with where you are in this course to make the decision to not move forward with your final project. Good luck to you in all the other courses you are managing this semester!
Hi April, good for you for being ahead in the course! Even though you decided not to do the final project, you have so many points to finish the class with a strong A! Looking back, I may have completed more extra credit assignments to get ahead so that I would have a lighter workload toward the end. Good luck to you in your other classes!
